Tests of general relativity serve to establish observational evidence for the theory of general relativity. These classical tests, along with later experiments, have confirmed the theory's predictions in weak and strong gravitational fields.

The tests of general relativity have progressively validated the theory across different gravitational regimes. In the 1970s, Irwin Shapiro measured the relativistic time delay in radar signal travel time near the Sun. Both in the weak field limit and with stronger fields, predictions of general relativity have been extremely well tested.
